This policy explains what DOD Web Studio collects when you use this website, why, and what rights you have over it.
Who I am
DOD Web Studio is run by Declan O'Donnell, a sole trader based in Sheffield & Rotherham, South Yorkshire, United Kingdom. For any privacy question, contact dodwebstudio@outlook.com.
What I collect
- Contact form: the name, email address, project type, budget range (optional), and project details you choose to submit.
- DOD AI chat: the messages you type into the chat widget, sent to a third-party AI provider to generate a reply. Please don't share sensitive personal information in the chat.
- Basic hosting logs: standard technical logs (e.g. IP address, request time) kept briefly by the hosting provider for security and reliability.
Who else sees it
Data is processed by a small number of service providers acting on my behalf:
- Formspree — receives and delivers contact form submissions.
- Groq — processes DOD AI chat messages to generate a reply. Messages are sent via a server-side proxy; no chat message is stored in a database by this site.
- Netlify — hosts this website and its server-side function, and may log basic request data for security and reliability.
Why I process it, and the legal basis
Contact form data is processed to respond to your enquiry and take pre-contract steps towards a project (legitimate interests / steps taken at your request prior to entering a contract). Chat messages are processed to give you a useful reply in the moment (legitimate interests in operating the chat feature).
How long it's kept
Contact form submissions are kept for as long as reasonably needed to respond to your enquiry and, if we work together, for the duration of the project and a reasonable period after for accounting and support purposes. Chat messages are not persisted in a database by this site; they exist only for the duration of your session in your browser, plus whatever short-term processing the AI provider performs to generate a response.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data, restrict or object to processing, and request a copy of it. To exercise any of these, email dodwebstudio@outlook.com. If you're not satisfied with how a concern is handled, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).
Cookies & local storage
This site uses sessionStorage to remember whether you've already seen the loading animation this session. No tracking or advertising cookies are set by this site directly.
